You still don’t understand it, do you Peet. Autism Speaks is an organization that wants to cure autism, rather than try to help children and adults who have it. As someone who spends a lot of time on internet forums, I can tell you that people using the word autistic like an insult doesn’t bother me. What bothers me is when ableist people treat a developmental disorder like it makes you a worse person when many people with autism including myself are perfectly fine and may even find surprising benefits from their diagnosis.
